Let’s write.

Virtual Training

No matter where your team is located, we’ll cover the essentials to achieve clarity in technical writing.  Split into three 75-minute workshops, our virtual training sessions are offered in a fully-interactive, video-based format.  Sessions can span multiple days, or can be taken consecutively in one day.

What we’ll cover: All core principles will be covered throughout the virtual training sessions.  To customize the depth and breadth of any one principle, just let us know—we will work with you to satisfy your organization’s needs.

In-Person Training

Invite us to be a part of your corporate training events.  We offer high energy, interactive workshops built upon a presentation style proven to facilitate learning and improve retention. Typical class sizes range from 10-50 participants.

What we’ll cover: Content for our in-person workshops can be customized for a half-day, full-day, or two-day event. Contact us for an example schedule or to customize a workshop for your organization.

One-on-One Coaching

Writer’s block? Need a second set of eyes? Kathryn is available to work with you one-on-one to provide feedback, jumpstart ideas, and help edit your next technical document.  One-on-one coaching sessions are available as an add-on to any of our workshop offerings, or as a standalone event.

Core Principles

At The Technical Pen, we’ve found that strong technical writers showcase their skills in three primary categories: document layout, written voice, and audience engagement.  Our workshops are built around core principles in each of these categories, offering you actionable techniques to improve your technical writing skills.  Through our workshops, we will help you build a meaningful structure, energize your written voice, and keep your audience on track.
