Kathryn L. Kirsch, Ph.D.

Kathryn is your guide to the written word of science. An enthusiasm for writing coupled with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering gives Kathryn the unique skills to help scientists and engineers communicate effectively. And, she’s passionate about doing so. 

Kathryn has been active in teaching effective communication skills for the past ten years.  As an engineer herself, she has seen countless research ideas, technical details, and important findings go unnoticed due to ineffective communication: she wants to stop that trend.  Her workshops are engaging, offer actionable advice, and are built from her own experiences in both academia and industry.  

An experienced research engineer, Kathryn’s technical interests lie in heat transfer and additive manufacturing.  During her time at Penn State University, three of her publications won best paper. [1, 2, 3]
